Description: An introduction to using city directories for genealogy, for those unfamiliar. The speaker will focus mostly on the less-obvious benefits for genealogists of the directories, beyond just filling in the gaps between census years. For example, these documents can provide give exact dates of death to help locate obits, or help find the nearest church to determine where to look for church records.
